CALGARY — The number of people receiving regular Employment Insurance benefits in Alberta has dropped by nearly 11 per cent compared with last year, says Statistics Canada.
The federal agency reported Thursday that 28,800 people were receiving benefits in January. That’s down 740 from December or 2.5 per cent and off by 3,440 from January 2012 or 10.7 per cent.
