EDMONTON – Enerkem says the challenging task of hiring more than 30 energy workers for its new Edmonton biofuels plant in a hot labour market is nearly accomplished.
“Right now, we have 70 per cent of the employees we need to operate the plant this year,” said Marie-Helene Labrie, vice-president of government affairs and communications for Enerkem.
The Quebec-based developer of technology that converts municipal solid waste into synthesis gas, or syngas, is building a plant at Edmonton’s Waste Management Centre at the Clover Bar landfill.
