The federal government’s recent decision to clamp down on short-term rentals offered through sites like Airbnb and VRBO is not a panacea. It won’t solve Canada’s housing crisis. It won’t suddenly enable every cash-strapped millennial to afford a rental unit with enough space to start a family.
