Calgary homebuilder Deep Shergill says the heartbeat of the housing industry has a direct link to the national economy.

The incoming national president of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association even compares it to a line by late General Motors chairman Charlie Wilson, who said: “What’s good for General Motors is good for America and vice versa.”
