Mayor Don Iveson sees a marriage between improved transit, and a revitalized downtown paying off with more jobs and more economic activity. The early indications of the new transit strategy for the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) will see more frequency routes inside the inner ring loop along a grid system, while routes in the suburbs will see morning and evening rush hour express service.
