Less than two years after restarting production at its Medicine Hat facility, Methanex is investing another $30 million to increase the amount of methanol it can produce.

Pilings and concrete foundations are being put this week to accommodate new distillation equipment at the methanol plant in Brier Park. The towers, which arrived earlier this winter, will eventually allow the facility to ramp up production by about 10 per cent, said locally based company vice-president Kevin Henderson.
