The terms of your rental agreement are almost at an end and then you receive a letter from him or his solicitor, informing you that he is increasing the rent on the property. You look at the increase and your eyes nearly fall out of their sockets because Mr Landlord has jacked up the rent by 80 per cent. Just heartless, you think. Panic sets in, you start to think of how you will raise the money to pay the increase; or maybe you will just move into the boys’ quarters of your uncompleted building. What do you do?
