Okotoks town council’s move to ease the financial burden on homeowners by increasing taxes on businesses will end up hurting the people they wanted to save, says a local business man.

“The consumer pays in the end and to a large extent those same consumers are the ones they’re trying to save from a tax increase,” said Okotoks realtor John Fraser.
