In a sign of the growing human pressures on Kananaskis Country, the province on Friday announced a contract to expand a water plant in the mountain playground west of Calgary.

Utilities player EPCOR has been awarded the contract in a public-private partnership (P3) to upgrade the $59.6 million water and wastewater treatment at Evan-Thomas, off of Hwy. 40 just north of the Mt. Kidd Golf Course.
