Project aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions on Alberta farms

EDMONTON – Compared to oilsands mines and coal-fired electricity plants, farms aren’t considered large emitters of greenhouse gases.

But agriculture accounts for about 10 per cent of Canadian greenhouse gas emissions, according to Environment Canada. Much of that comes in the form of nitrous oxide, released during fertilizer usage.
