EDMONTON — The Tory government still wants to return Deerfoot Trail to municipal control, and could look to begin talks with the city of Calgary in the next few months, says Transportation Minister Ric McIver.

However, the MLA for Calgary-Hays and a former city alderman said there is no sense of urgency to the issue, which would require extensive negotiations and a final agreement with the city before any handover.
