Southern Alberta tops in growth of mint and dill

Whether serving roast lamb or pickles, southern Alberta is in mint condition.

If you enjoy the crunch that accompanies a dill pickle, brush your teeth with mint flavoured paste or the cool minty taste of chewing gum, chances are you have consumed locally produced dill or mint.

According to Vital Signs,  released by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta on Tuesday, the region produces half of North America’s dill and about 10 per cent of the continent’s mint.
