Townwide multi-modal transportation study put out to tender

Devon town council is going ahead with a plan to seek out a comprehensive review of all of Devon’s roadways, intersections, sidewalks, pathways, and all other transportation corridors.

At the Monday, Jan. 14 meeting a report was presented to council on the states goals of the review, dubbed the “multi modal transportation study”.

The study has a budget of $115,000 as approved in the 2013 capital budget, and will be awarded to a planning firm that is determined to be the best equipped and presents council with the best proposal. The idea behind the study, as explained to council by director of planning and infrastructure Rod Fraser, is to create consistent policies and examine possible improvements for all modes of transportation, from cars to bicycles to pedestrians.
