Queen Mary Park is named for Mary of Teck, queen of the commonwealth from 1910-1936 and grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II. The area underwent the bulk of its development after 1950. Prior to joining the city of Edmonton, the area was part of the Hudson’s Bay Company reserve.
