Calgary airport improvement fee hike to hurt Canadian airlines

Calgary International Airport is set to raise its airport improvements fees next spring, dealing a blow to Canadian airlines — WestJet Airlines Ltd. in particular, which uses the airport as its base.

Jody Moseley, Calgary airport authority spokeswoman, said the increase would help pay for a $2-billion renovation underway at the airport, including a new runway and terminal.
