Ethnic Asso. will have a new home

New blood will pulse in the heart of the city. Plans to provide a new, downtown location for the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association won approval Monday from city council.

After debate, council endorsed a proposal to renovate and expand the former 6 Avenue fire hall instead of patching up the northside Bill Kergan Centre. As well as bringing new life – including international dinners and cultural events -to a busy downtown corner, council learned the change of plans will save $1.2 million.
