A proposed commercial shopping centre in the north end of High River is inching closer to reality after town council gave first reading Monday to two necessary subdivision bylaws.

If approved, the bylaws will designate the intended site –located just off Highway 2A- as a commercial shopping centre, paving the way for construction to begin on the Canadian Tire anchored mall.
