AIRDRIE – Todd Hirsch, senior economist at ATB Financial, called Airdrie an economic “outlier” during a speech before members of the Airdrie business community at Woodside Golf Course on Wednesday.

He was reacting to news from City of Airdrie Economic Development team leader Kent Rupert that shows Airdrie grew in population by 5.92 per cent in 2012, attracted $95 million in residential development and a further $86 million in commercial and school development.
