Municipalities upset over ORRSC fee hike

After a bit of a financial rework, some municipalities who are members of the Oldman River Regional Services Commission may be considering alternative for planning services.

Recently Director of Services at ORRSC, Lenze Kuiper, announced that the Commission hadn’t updated their rates since 1995. Rates that have been charged over the past 19 years have been set based on an assessment done in 1993.

“We had to go back in time because our rates were based on the 1993 total equalized assessment,” explained Director of Services at ORRSC, Lenze Kuiper. “We are playing catch up from 1995.”
