A new neighbourhood for Peace River is one step closer to realization, gaining unanimous approval from the Town of Peace River Council at its last regular meeting (Jan. 28).

The Peace Ridge Area Structure Plan – which would see the development of the area south of the ATCO Gas office, south-west of Weaver Welding on the west hill – past third reading seamlessly.

The development is set to be phased over time (an estimated ten years) based on demand, but allows for a total of 114 manufactured homes, 104 apartment units and 39 semi-detached condo units as well as 55 units of medium density row-housing.
