Airdrie part of one of Canada’s fastest-growing metro areas, new data shows (Airdrie)

 

Population growth in the Calgary census metropolitan area — which includes the City of Calgary, Airdrie, Rocky View County, Cochrane, Chestermere and surrounding communities — remained among the fastest in the country between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2025, even as population growth slowed across all census metropolitan areas nationwide, according to new estimates released Tuesday by Statistics Canada.
