COLUMN: Riding the property assessment roller coaster (Okotoks)

 

I get that assessments are just a mechanism to determine each property’s slice of the tax pie, not some sort of sinister way for local governments to raise property taxes. I also get that assessments are an effort to establish market value of each property based on sales in a given area.
