Opinion: 'Granville Island' development doesn't belong in Rossdale (Edmonton)

It is ironic that on Tuesday, just two days after National Indigenous Peoples Day, there will be a public hearing in which city council will vote on rezoning Rossdale — an important cultural area for Indigenous peoples and a former burial site — for residential and commercial development of up to 15 storeys and which involves the city selling 10-plus acres of river valley land that is currently open space.
