Okotoks town councillors are aiming for a slightly lower municipal tax increase for the Town’s 2013 budget than they approved last year.Councillors approved a list of guidelines and priorities for the deliberations of the Town’s 2013 budget last week.
At the top of the list is a commitment to limit any potential increases to the municipal share of property taxes to 4.7 per cent, the combined rate of population growth and inflation. Councillors approved a five per cent increase in municipal taxes almost a year ago for the 2012 budget.
