Price adjustments mostly driven by apartment and row style homes 

Thanks to steep pullbacks in the apartment condominium sector, total residential sales in Calgary eased by 17 per cent compared to May of last year. While the drop does seem significant, the 2,568 sales this month remain 11 per cent higher than long-term trends for May and improved over last month.

Home sales dampen in areas near Calgary 

Sales in a few of Calgary’s bedroom communities edged up in April while most others experienced declines. Yet the overall picture for the city’s outlying municipalities is one illustrating demand well below the pandemic peak. Calgary Real Estate Board statistics from April show the largest of those communities — Airdrie — saw real estate resales fall about eight per cent year over year. That’s as new listings grew about 32 per cent, while the benchmark price was flat at $544,700.
