The number of development permit appeals in Calgary has “surged” since citywide rezoning was approved, according to the city’s Subdivision Development and Appeal Board (SDAB), and it’s raising concerns that delays are impacting housing affordability.

White: 17th Avenue’s main street evolves into urban village

Long-time Calgary residents will remember when 17th Avenue S.W. (from 4th Street to 14th Street S.W.) was branded as “Uptown 17th” back in the 1980s. It made sense as 17th Ave was just nine blocks south of downtown’s Stephen Avenue pedestrian mall.

‘It has definitely improved a lot’: East Village residents and businesses largely unaffected by high crime rates

Calgary Planning Commission votes in favour of land use change for controversial Springbank Hill development

Calgary real estate fraud leaves dozens of investors fighting to recover millions

City of Calgary sitting with $221 million surplus
