Canadian entrepreneurship aspirations hit an eight-year high: RBC Poll 

Entrepreneurial ambition in Canada has hit an eight-year high, signaling a resurgence in the drive to start and grow businesses. According to the annual RBC Small Business Poll, Canadians with aspirations to own a business have reached a new peak of 59 per cent – up 13 points in just two years, returning to levels not seen since 2017.

Tariffs weigh on homebuyer decisions as Canadians eye interest rates 

Many Canadians may be hitting the pause button on home buying decisions due to the uncertainty over tariffs involving the ongoing Canada-United States trade spat, a new survey has found. TD recently published last month the findings of a new survey conducted on its behalf by Harris Poll Canada that found, among respondents considering buying in the next two years, a significant share noted tariffs are holding them back.

On Tuesday, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) released statistics on housing starts for the first half of the year in seven major Canadian cities. The federal housing agency also projected the number of new housing unit starts (apartments, condos, row houses and single-family detached houses) that will be achieved across the country in 2025.
