Several options for new parking in Voyageur park were presented to council at the regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 26. The potential parking options included construction of a parking lot on the west green next to the boat launch. This option includes two different sites on the west green and two different access points for the potential parking lot.

At the regular council meeting on Jan. 22, council unanimously approved an additional $5,000 be granted to the Devon Days Exhibition Association (DEXA) for the fireworks display. Councillors agreed that the fireworks display is a huge part of Devon Days appeal and that the additional funds would increase the value of the event this year. $5,000 has already been approved by council in the 2018 operating budget for Devon Days.

Following the approval of the new Edmonton Metropolitan Region Growth Plan, the Town of Devon was asked to prepare regional context statements which would outline the municipality’s transition strategy as well as the town’s Municipal Development Plan.
