The Town of Devon announced its Three-year Fiscal Recovery and Service Stabilization plan, which includes the 2023 operating budget, on November 30, the results of the November 25 and 26 budget deliberations.

This week, Council approved a disciplined operational and capital budget for 2023, keeping tax rates competitive while continuing to fund important investments in regional infrastructure. With a 2.78 per cent increase to the municipal tax levy, the average residential property owner will see a property tax increase of $7.67 per month.

As construction begins on the Dale Fisher Arena project, the Town is pleased to announce that the outdoor boarded rink located to the west of the Arena will still be in use for winter 2023 to be relocated the following winter.

At long last, the Town of Devon has given the go-ahead on the Dale Fisher Arena twinning project. Residents of Devon have asked for a second ice surface in Devon for years, spanning multiple iterations of town council and administration, and thanks to some key government grants and a partnership with NAX hockey academy, council was finally able to approve the project at the November 1 special council meeting.

The Town of Devon returned to its regular council meeting schedule on October 11, holding it on a Tuesday instead of the regular Monday, because of the Thanksgiving holiday. The town will continue to meet on the second and fourth Monday of every month.

The Town of Devon heralded in the next era of Devon baseball with the grande opening of Paragon Ballpark, July 22. The new ballpark, located at 100 AspenLeaf Road, consists of four slo pitch diamonds and one baseball diamond, as well as a playground, batting cage, washrooms, and camping area.
