Most Calgary outlying communities see price growth with one exception 

Calgary’s bedroom communities’ resale real estate markets saw their prices climb in June despite falling sales and ample supply in many markets — with one notable exception. Calgary Real Estate Board statistics from June show the benchmark price of a home in Airdrie fell nearly three per cent to $538,300, year over year, continuing a downward trend over many months. Sales also fell nearly 22 per cent, while inventory gained more than 122 per cent year over year.

Home sales dampen in areas near Calgary 

Sales in a few of Calgary’s bedroom communities edged up in April while most others experienced declines. Yet the overall picture for the city’s outlying municipalities is one illustrating demand well below the pandemic peak. Calgary Real Estate Board statistics from April show the largest of those communities — Airdrie — saw real estate resales fall about eight per cent year over year. That’s as new listings grew about 32 per cent, while the benchmark price was flat at $544,700.

Housing near Calgary sees rising inventories and prices 

More supply in Calgary’s bedroom communities was not enough to stem price increases in all markets last month. Calgary Real Estate Board statistics for March show inventory rose substantially in many markets, amid diverging sales trends depending on the market. But every community saw increases in benchmark price.
