Uncertainty weighing on housing market 

Ongoing economic uncertainty, driven by tariff threats, has weighed on consumer confidence and impacted housing activity in March. Sales declined by 19 per cent year-over-year, totaling 2,159 units. Sales slowed across all property types, with the steepest declines seen in higher-density segments.

Home prices rise in communities near Calgary 

Benchmark prices climbed modestly, amid mostly fast-rising year-over-year supply, in most of Calgary’s surrounding communities with one standout for growth. Calgary Real Estate Board’s February report found Canmore led all municipalities with a 13 per cent increase year over year with its benchmark price reaching about $1.07 million. That’s despite sales falling about 26 per cent and inventory rising about 10 per cent.
