St. Albert businesses are dealing with the effects of the trade war between the United States and Canada that just heightened this past week, as U.S. President Donald Trump bumped tariffs on certain Canadian goods to 35 per cent.

St. Albert council debates renaming St. Anne Promenade to Veterans Way

St. Albert city council will hold a vote on whether or not to rename St. Anne Promenade to Veterans Way, following a notice of motion submitted by Coun. Mike Killick during council’s last meeting.

St. Albert council will consider new soccer facility after SASA review

St. Albert city council has voted unanimously to push back its decision on the St. Albert Soccer Association’s (SASA) request for a city grant for a new city-owned indoor facility within 90 days after SASA conducts an independent financial review.

City council updates tax policies following debate on assessment growth threshold

St. Albert city council has voted to update its financial policies, including increasing the threshold of when prior year assessment growth revenue may be considered to five per cent, an increase from 3.5 per cent.
