Calgary downtown office demand decreasing

CALGARY — Calgary’s downtown office market continued its downward trend in the third quarter of this year with decreased demand for office space from tenants while sublease inventory continued to increase, says Colliers International.

Food Notes: Cactus Club opens in downtown Edmonton

EDMONTON – Cactus Club has launched a second Edmonton location at 11130 Jasper Ave. The chain’s executive chef, Rob Feenie, was in town last week for the media party, and plans to be in YEG quite a bit over the next few weeks, making sure the new store gets off to a good start.

Hicks on Biz: The downtown hospitality explosion

Blair Lebsack had scoured the downtown, looking for space to house his new RGE RD restaurant.

RGE RD is now open, just off 124 Street’s restaurant row. But downtown leases, Blair says, “just about doubled” during his 18-month location search.

Calgary council approves 15-storey, 388-stall automated parkade for city’s downtown core

City council have given the green light to an automated parkade in the downtown core.

After a lengthy public debate at Monday’s regular meeting, council voted 10-5 in favour of a proposed 388-stall automated parkade on 7 Ave. between Centre St. and 1 St. S.W.
