High-end boutiques to move to former Hole’s greenhouse site

Boutiques, cafés and small, private shops will soon take over what was once part of the original Hole’s greenhouse site.

The Shops at Boudreau will include everything from high-end boutiques, to retail and professional services, offices, restaurants and cafés, said Stewart Gillespie, president of Edmonton-based developer Chrisen Realty Corporation.

New owners and new name for The Country Club of the Hamptons

One of Calgary’s most prestigious golf clubs has new owners and a new name.

The Country Club of the Hamptons, an exclusive 18-hole hangout in the northwest corner of the city, has been re-branded as The Hamptons Golf Club.

New principle owners Barry and Ron Ehlert plan to operate the 6,869-yard setup as a “member-centric” facility, although a press release stated “unaccompanied guests and events will still have the opportunity to play the golf course and access the facilities.”

Calgary golf course to make way for waterfront pathway

The city will extend its recreational pathway along the northwest edge of the Glenmore Reservoir, after leveraging lease renegotiations with Earl Grey Golf Club to free up the waterfront space.

By 2017, the city will have fulfilled a long-standing plan to loop its pathways around the entire reservoir to the Glenmore Trail Causeway, instead of directing cyclists and joggers onto a trail through the Lakeview neighbourhood.

Sides still divided over redevelopment of Shaw-Nee Slopes Golf Course

CALGARY — The war of words may have ceased, but the two parties embroiled in a dispute over redeveloping the Shaw-Nee Slopes Golf Course remain far apart on the finer details.

“There remains a fair gulf between the community’s and the developer’s positions,” said Grant Galpin, the consultant representing the Shawnee-Evergreen community.
