The Fort McMurray Airport Authority has released a report showing that the Fort McMurray Airport (YMM) has a significant positive economic impact on the community.
The stats for 2011 show YMM accounts for nearly 1,700 jobs, an annual labour income of $118 million and value-added gross domestic product expenditures of $245 million for a total impact of $363 million.

CALGARY— Many Canadian employers are struggling to find the right talent for specific jobs amid a growing skills shortage, says Randstad Canada’s latest Global Workmonitor report released Wednesday.
The report described Canada’s growing shortage of highly skilled labour as critical and predicted shortages in the Manufacturing, Automation and Energy and Utility industries with Calgary one of the regions experiencing this issue.
