Taxes expected to go up after drop in home assessments

Although the residential assessments generally place the value of Cochrane homes at the same or slightly less than in 2017, taxes will not be going down as the 0.44 per cent drop will be negated by a shift in the tax rate to ensure enough revenue is collected for the 2018 budget.
