Council approves Lewis Farms road upgrades but bigger fixes still years away

Edmonton city council has approved changes to how roadway upgrades in the Lewis Farms area will be funded and delivered, a move councillors said was meant to tackle mounting traffic pressures in the city’s west end while avoiding costly delays.

Edmonton’s business community glad three-part Downtown deal was approved

Despite controversy surrounding the deal, Edmonton’s business and development communities are happy that the three-part event park, Village at ICE District, and demolition of the Coliseum deal was approved on Monday and are already looking forward to the future.

B.C.’s maximum rent increase in 2026 is set at 2.3 per cent

The provincial government has capped next year’s maximum rent increase at 2.3 per cent, down from 3.0 per cent in 2025.

Proposed new homeless shelter would be on city outskirts

The city and Mustard Seed on Thursday announced common ground on a potential location for a new permanent homeless shelter, which would be located in a city-owned property more than five kilometres from the downtown core.

Traffic delays in Redcliff expected as major road resurfacing project begins Tuesday

Following the Labour Day long weekend a large road resurfacing and sidewalk construction project will begin on Broadway Avenue in Redcliff, expected to impact traffic for more than two weeks.

Trophy-property ranches hit the market as more heirs chose to sell

For more than 116 years, Deanna Davis’ family has owned Reynolds Ranch, spanning 7,600 acres in California’s Central Coast region. With the heirs in disagreement over the homestead’s future, Reynolds Ranch is now on the market for $30.7 million.
