Calgary city council looks to trim budget down from proposed 6.1% property tax hike

City budget deliberations began with a glimmer of hope Monday when councillors were told returning a $52 million provincial tax break would mean a 1.1% reduction on property taxes.

Airdire named top business-friendly city

The City of Airdrie – along with Cochrane, Rocky View County and Chestermere -was voted top business-friendly municipalities in the overall national rankings from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) in its national survey released Oct. 21.
