Banner year of growth

Cochrane had a banner year for growth in 2013 with a record number of houses coming on stream and total building permits climbing 59.6 per cent. The net result is an estimated population increase of 7.4 per cent, translating into 1,383 people.

World Bank: Global economy is picking up

WASHINGTON (AP) — The global economy is slowly picking up steam, led by advanced economies appearing to turn the corner after five years of financial crises and recession and a continued good performance by China, the World Bank said.

More growth forecast for Calgary housing sales and prices

CALGARY – A slowdown in net migration this year should help ease some of the housing demand pressure in the city but overall MLS sales are forecast to rise by 3.6 per cent with prices going up by 4.28 per cent, says the Calgary Real Estate Board, which officially released its annual forecast Wednesday morning.
