Economy grew 2.8% in the third quarter

The economy grew at a 2.8% annual rate in the third quarter, an unexpectedly strong performance that defied predictions that slowing growth in new home sales over the summer and the threat of a government shutdown were cutting into growth.

St. Albert harnessing growth potential

BoC drops rate-hike talk, sees slower growth

The Bank of Canada abandoned on Wednesday 18 months of warnings that interest rates will one day have to rise in a sharp policy shift that highlighted weaker-than-expected growth and inflation and pushed the prospect of higher rates further into the future.

Alberta and Saskatchewan to top country in salary growth

CALGARY — Alberta and Saskatchewan are again expecting to offer the highest pay increases next year as employers in those regions struggle to recruit and retain employees, says a new report released Tuesday by the Conference Board of Canada.
