On Saturday, June 15, the Strathcona County bike park will have its grand opening west the Broadview Road and Bethel Drive intersection.
The park, which had a soft opening last fall, will have its formal opening with a series of activities. A dirt jump competition will launch the day’s festivities at 1 p.m. Local elected officials will be on hand at 2:30 p.m., when there will be free barbecued food and prizes will be given away.

Last time, proponents of a new skateboard park were a little late asking for civic support.
But Thursday, they heard good news from City Hall. Boarders will receive about $400,000, enough to complete a new facility this year near Henderson Lake Park.
Meeting as finance committee, city council members approved the project as they wrapped up debate on the city’s 2014-18 Capital Improvement Program. Its total cost is pegged at about $702,000.
