Craig seeks third term as mayor

Coaldale Mayor Kim Craig still has work he’d like to do as mayor of the community.

Craig has indicated he will seek a third term as mayor of Coaldale in the October 2013 municipal election.

He noted the new four-year term for municipal council didn’t give him any cause for rethinking another term on council.

“You can really sink your teeth into it,” he said of the new four-year term.

“There are still a lot of things I personally would like to see get done.”

Craig has committed to representing Coaldale on the provincial level over the past year. He has become a board member of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association as a director for towns south. While it brings with it an expanded list of activities, in addition to his role as mayor, he believes Coaldale needs to be more of a provincial player.

Boucher will run for mayor again in 2013

Norm Boucher says he will seek another term as Medicine Hat’s mayor.

Boucher, who is in his second term in the mayor’s chair, told reporters after Monday’s city council session that it’s no secret that he’s running for another term.

“Several people have asked and I’ve said sure,” said Boucher. “I’ll have been at it for six years at the end of this term. I’m in good health, I like what I’m doing and I think we’ve made good progress, especially with this council in the last two years and the next one coming up.”
