Canada unexpectedly posts first trade surplus in 22 months

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada unexpectedly posted a trade surplus of C$75 million ($70.1 million) in October, the first in 22 months, as imports fell at a faster rate than exports, Statistics Canada data indicated on Wednesday.

‘Positive’ sign on free trade pact

China is becoming ‘positive’ toward the US-led Asia-Pacific free trade agreement, saying it may join the Trans-Pacific Partnership, although it will take time to do so, according to sources at the Ministry of Commerce.
