World Bank Lifts 2016 Crude Price Forecast But Glut Continues

Following robust demand for crude and disruptions to supply in the second quarter, the World Bank raised on Tuesday its 2016 forecast for crude oil prices to US$43 per barrel from US$41 per barrel, but warned oversupply would take some time to diminish.

Rosedale residents balk at proposed affordable housing sites in pricey neighbourhood

A proposal to develop affordable housing on eight vacant lots adjacent to the 16th Avenue soundwall has Rosedale residents worried about “the possible class of people that would be renting” and the effect the new homes would have on residents’ “property value and ultimately retirement.”

Blackfalds Releases 2016 municipal census report

At the July 12, 2016 Regular Council Meeting, the results of the 2016 Municipal Census were presented to and approved by Council, followed by the release of the full census report on July 26. The Town of Blackfalds conducted the Municipal Census April 1 to May 15, 2016, utilizing both an online system and door to door enumerators.
