Province announces investment to boost economic development

The government announced Thursday it will be providing both Indigenous and small communities with an additional $3 million in grants to maximize opportunities in rural areas. Additionally on Thursday the government also announced more than $4 million to help small and medium sized businesses boost productivity.

Building permit values increase significantly in June

Building permit values increased significantly in June, with 107 issued permits valued at $949.2 million, compared with 120 permits issued in June 2024 worth $5.7 million.

While he hasn’t telegraphed how he’ll vote when it comes to reducing the cap on single-lot multiplexes in mature neighbourhoods to six from eight, Mayor Amarjeet Sohi stressed that shrinking mature neighbourhoods need to embrace change.
