Nello’s opens a third location in YEG

The popular Italian restaurant, with locations in St. Albert and on Calgary Trail,  has opened a third shop. Called Antonio’s by Nello’s, the third location is in the space previously occupied by  The Copper Pot, at 9707-110 Street (780-452-6622). While that location has always been a bit of a black hole as far as restaurants go, owner Antonio Saporito thinks he can draw customers with a combination of the view (overlooking the river valley and the legislature) and his food.

Fire department maps city for best station layout

The Medicine Hat Fire Service is creating mapping models to help determine where fire stations should be built in the future.

The idea of adding a fourth firehall first arose as a suggestion in 2010 as part of the service’s 10-year plan, but the item was left out of the city’s three-year budget approved last winter, amidst some controversy.

Questions surface over park

Lethbridge’s north regional park may be delayed. But contrary to previous information, its exact site has not been determined.

That was the news from city council Monday for residents of Blackwolf, one of the city’s newest subdivisions. Home-buyers came to council to protest an apparent change in the major park’s location, discovered when park design consultants made their proposals public earlier this fall
