City planners have recommended that 112th Avenue remain at its current configuration of four lanes of traffic, instead of the three that are under consideration.
The city plans to rebuild 112th Avenue between 50th and 68th Streets next year.

Council voted Tuesday to send the Hawrelak Park beach idea back to administration, effectively postponing any construction for at least a year.
Mayor Stephen Mandel asked city staff to develop cost estimates for a wading pool near the playground at Hawrelak, after a city committed voted down the original location beside the lake.

Anthony Henday planners will be including two sets of traffic lights for the Baseline Road and Highway 216 interchange.
“On Baseline Road they are also going to have set of lights (for both directions), so when traffic is coming off of the Henday they can actually make turns onto Baseline,” said Strathcona County’s director of Economic Development and Tourism, Gerry Gabinet.
“That is a really tough intersection. These are going to be some really good improvements.”

Two additional northside Lethbridge schools are no longer required. Planners will have to remove those sites and adjust plans for undeveloped land adjacent to the city’s new regional park.

EDMONTON – Large swaths of Churchill Square will be filled with trees and city centre festivals will shift onto 99th Street, if city planners have their way.
There would be a park north of City Hall, where the post office parking lot is now. The avenue between City Hall and Churchill Square would also be torn up, and the Three Bananas Cafe would be bordered with a strip of green tree canopy to the north and west. A green connection would continue south down 99th Street to the river valley.
