Opening date set for new RCMP detachment

Okotoks RCMP will move into its new home earlier than expected.

Construction of the Southridge Emergency Services building is nearing completion and the facility is now expected to open on Sept. 1.

Edmonton police close 3 community stations

Edmonton police are closing three community stations as of Monday.

The Fairway station in Westbrook in southwest Edmonton as well as the Beverly and Eastwood stations north of downtown are all closing as part of an effort by the Edmonton Police Service to put more officers on the street.

Police Point Park ‘getting back to normal’ as flood clean up continues around city

Police Point Park is hoping to get things back to normal soon following the flood.

The park received flooding from the South Saskatchewan River on its trails, but the Nature Centre was spared and reopened Friday.
