House prices, in general, have risen across Calgary compared to the same period last year, according to a report released Tuesday by Royal LePage. But some areas have shown larger increases than others. The graphs below break down the average prices from April to June, year-over-year.

Low inventory, high demand pushing Calgary house prices upward

A combination of low inventory and strong demand has driven prices of all housing types in Calgary higher, according to a report released Tuesday by Royal LePage.

Home prices up 12.1% in April

Home prices rose 12.1% in April, making their strongest gains in seven years, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index released Tuesday.

Calgary house price growth best in Canada

CALGARY — Calgary’s housing market continued in May to shine compared with the rest of the country as the city’s year-over-year price growth was the best in Canada and the increase in MLS sales activity topped all other major markets.

Obviously the new home sales report this morning was solid with sales above expectations and significant upward revisions to prior months. I try not to react too much to the month to month ups and downs; the key points right now are that sales are increasing and will probably continue to increase for some time.

New home prices touch record high

Sales of new homes rose in April to the second highest level since the summer of 2008 while the median price for a new home hit a record high, further signs that housing is recovering.

Home prices near new peaks in many markets

Home prices in 10% of the nation’s top 200 housing markets have recently hit new peaks or are only a hair away, new data show.

Another 24 of the top markets are within 5% of their previous peaks, according to data provided to USA TODAY by real estate tracker Lender Processing Services.
