According to a study released today by BMO Financial Group, Albertans are the most likely in Canada to start their own business in retirement.
The survey showed that 53 per cent felt that way.
In Canada, it showed that 39 per cent say that it is likely they will start their own business after they reach retirement age (65 years old). But 81 per cent plan on working in some capacity during their retirement.

CALGARY — Optimism levels among Alberta’s small business owners took a sharp fall in November as concerns over the shortage of skilled labour jumped, according to the latest Business Barometer report released Wednesday by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
The CFIB said the barometer dropped by 3.9 points and the index sits at 68.3 for Alberta, meaning most of the gains made since the summer have been wiped out.
